Managing Printers

Printers are managed from the Devices page. From this page new printers can be added/removed, made available/unavailable for Funnel jobs. Printer status, details and job progress can be seen here.

Actions that change the state of a printer or add/remove printers require a user to have either an Admin or Owner role.

By default the Devices tab on the Devices page holds a ‘card’ for each printer that has been enrolled. If one of those cards is selected it will bring up the side panel that gives the printers details.

In the image above the ASIGASWP27printer was selected. The status bar at the bottom of the card indicates that the printer is currently Offline. As the printer is offline it will also appear in the Requires Attention tab. The print progress bar in the middle of the card shows nothing as the printer is offline it cannot be printing a job.

The icon next to the name indicates that the printer is not available for the Funnel to send jobs to. No icon is shown when the printer is available for the Funnel.

A user with an Owner or Admin role can enrol, ie add, additional printers by pressing the Add Device. The rest of the process is described in the section Enrolling Printers.

The printer menu can be brought up by moving the mouse over the printer card for the printer to be changed, and 3 vertical dots will appear. Clicking on the 3 vertical dots will open the Printer menu which presents the options to:

• Remove a Printer
• Toggle the flag that says if a printer is available to the Funnel

Requires Attention tab

The Requires Attention tab holds printers with some sort of problem, or printers that are offline. In issues that cause a printer to appear in the Requires Attention tab require intervention at the printer. They are not errors that can be addressed within Funnel.
